Born in France, WK Interact has lived in Brooklyn, NYC for nearly 20 years, where his dynamic and energetic imagery of figures pushing, stumbling and running through the streets has become iconic in the SoHo district and widely recognised internationally; the urban landscape creates a perfect backdrop for WK Interact's images and helps reinforce the theme of the human body in motion.
WK's work employs various techniques, including photocopying and screen printing, to capture various attitudes of the human body in one fixed image.
The complexity of the composition is then added with superimposed layered drawings, collages and objects.
WK Interact first showed in Elms Lesters Painting Rooms group show LAST EXIT TO BROOKLYN in 2004, and his paintings have been included in numerous exhibitions at the gallery since. In August / September 2008 he partnered with Anthony Lister in a spectacular two man show 'WK - LISTER' at Elms Lesters.
His work has been exhibited internationally from America, England and France to Japan
Art historian Ben Jones' fascinating and in depth interview with WK Interact is published in The Elms Lesters Book
